Membership
The membership of the University of Toronto Venture Club (UTVC) aims to maintain organizational stability and efficiency, while fostering friendship and cooperation among members. Our goal is to create the most active VCPE investment community in Canada, guiding and accompanying the youngest leaders and scientists toward our common future.
We stand at the crossroads of history, transforming ideas into products and services that push the boundaries of humanity. We will fight for our future and invest in what we believe. The following outlines the system that prospective UTVC members should be aware of:
Membership Overview:
Membership is divided into full members and probationary members. Full members undergo a period of evaluation and certain review processes, meeting specific qualifications and conditions.
Probationary members can gradually accumulate experience and credibility by participating in UTVC activities and projects, eventually qualifying for full membership.
Adhere to the University of Toronto, membership is open to all registered students at the University and you will have the priority in the membership approval process. However, we also welcome Alumni and students from other accredited Universities to join.
Membership Levels:
To encourage active participation and contribution, UTVC has established various membership levels. These levels, from lowest to highest, are: Apprentice, Associate, Director, Senior, and Secretary General of the Executive Committee. The advancement of membership levels is closely related to contributions, participation, leadership, and influence within UTVC.
Membership Process:
To join the club, you must obtain two references from the current club members alongside your application. Failure to do so will automatically disqualify your application. But don't worry, we will make such introductions and make the connection happen! Alternatively, you can obtain such references by participating in our various public events.
After you have submitted your application with your references, we will initiate a club-wide anonymous voting. Once your application gains over 50% favourable, one of our executive committee members will reach out to you for an official welcome message and the next steps.

Depending on the membership level, members can enjoy different benefits. These include, but are not limited to:

Based on performance and achievements, UTVC will grant corresponding honours and awards to members in recognition and encourage continued striving for UTVC's goals and mission. The evaluation and reward include awards such as Outstanding Member, Distinguished Contribution, and Significant Achievement.
